THOMAS LISTER WALSH, born at Halifax on the 5th October, 1847, died at Hipperholme, near Halifax, on the 28th December, 1913.
Apprenticed to his uncle, Mr. R. Horsfall, of that town, he was subsequently employed on railways in the Midlands and North.
After fulfilling an appointment in New Zealand, he was engaged on New Street Station, Birmingham, and other works.
Later he was employed by Messrs. S. Pearson and Sons, contractors, on the Sheffield sewage works, Southampton docks, Hudson River tunnels, New York, Mexico City drainage, Vera Cruz harbour, Seaham harbour, and other contracts.
He retired owing to ill-health in 1902.
Mr. Walsh was elected an Associate Member of The Institution on the 4th December, 1894.
