Thomas Riley
Spindle and Fly maker of Medlock Street, Downing Street, Ardwick, Manchester.
1848 Disastrous boiler explosion on Friday, 11th February, destroyed part of Riley's works and it was reported the following day that nine men and boys had died. The total later rose to thirteen. The boiler was in poor condition and had been patched up by Riley.[1]
