1847 Advert: 'TO MERCHANTS, MANUFACTURERS, ENGINEERS, MILLWRIGHTS, AND RAILWAY CONTRACTORS.
THOMAS WILSON & CO., in returning their sincere thanks to their numerous Friends for the liberal support they have received during the last Twenty Five Years as STEEL MANUFACTURERS and IRON and BRASS FOUNDERS, beg to solicit a continuance of their favours, assuring them that the best Materials and Workmanship shall be employed in the manufacturing of their Articles. They also call the attention of their Friends and the Public to the large Improvements they have made in their Foundry Department, being now in a condition to make CASTINGS of every description up to seven or eight tons weight.
Turning, Boring, and Screw-cutting executed with Tools of the best construction, one of their Lathes being capable of turning or boring anything on the Face-plate 16 feet diameter, and in the centres three feet nine inches diameter, and 30 feet long. Cylinders bored up to six feet diameter. Screws, &c, up to 16 feet in length made to any size.
T. W. and Co. have a large Assortment of WHEEL MODELS and other Patterns, of which Catalogues may be had at the Office.
Engine and Millwright's Work of every description executed by first-rate Workmen.
