See Wylam Iron Works: Sale in 1842 of stock and implements previously belonging to Geo. A. Thompson and Benjamin James Thompson, bankrupts (they were presumably the Thompson Brothers).
1810 Company founded.
1839-41 Built six railway locomotives for the Newcastle and Carlisle Railway.
1880 Thompson Brothers of Dunston, near Gateshead, and G., C., and A. Thompson of Winlaton, engine, chain and nail manufacturers, were dissolved as regards A. Thompson, deceased[1]
1882 Thompson Brothers, Seaham Harbour, provided the engine for the Weston Co's lighting of the Skating Rink at theNorth-East Coast Exhibition[2]
It seems possible that late in the 19th century the company was joined with Emerson, Walker, also of Dunston, to form Emerson, Walker and Thompson Brothers.
