1848 Thomson Shepherd and Co was formed, in Seafield Works[1]

Became Thomson, Shepherd and Briggs

1896 Became a private company and took the name of Thomson, Shepherd and Co

1907 Employs 1,200 of which 900 were female.

1986 Seafield Works closed
