'...t the Partnership heretofore subsisting between us the undersigned, Henry Thornton and Patrick Ewing, in the trade or business of Commission Agents, carried on at Belfast, in the county of Antrim, in Ireland, under the style or firm of Thornton, Ewing, and Co., was dissolved by mutual consent on the 1st day of March, 1864; and that all debts due to or owing by the said firm will be received and paid by the said Patrick Ewing, by whom the said business will in future be carried on...'[2]
