c.1880 the Tide Water Oil Company was established

1930 There were 6,800 Tide Water oil wells in the USA, including extensive holdings in the Pennsylvania oil field. The Company owned and operates 1,200 miles of pipe lines and the Tide Water Refinery at Bayonne.

By 1930 Tide Water manufactured 330 different brands and grades of petroleum products, to meet the lubrication needs of the automotive, aviation, industrial and marine enterprises.
