1909 Timken Detroit Axle Co was formed, located on Clark Street in Detroit, Michigan.[1]

1928 Willard F. Rockwell sold the company he had formed to exploit his invention of a new bearing system for lorry axles to the Timken-Detroit Axle Co, staying on as its manager.

Automotive Products Co were the sole representatives in the British Isles for the company.[2]

By 1954 was subsidiary of Rockwell Spring and Axle Co of Detroit (see advert)
