1870 Founded as general engineers

1926 Started manufacturing a range of tobacco machinery invented by Oscar Legg

1947 patents and drawings relating to cigarette ripping and paper cleaning machines were sold by the parent company to Imperial Tobacco Co which then licensed Oscar Legg to manufacture them. Under the terms of the licence Imperial received a royalty of 5 per cent, on all machines sold to other tobacco manufacturers.
