1931 Death. 'The death of Capt. Tom Dyer, of Trethowal. St. Austell, which occurred at the St. Austell District Hospital on Friday evening in his 77th year, following a serious operation, has removed a familiar personality from the district. He had had a life-long association with the china clay industry. In his early days he was engaged at Trenance but for nearly years be was a captain at Trethowal for the Trethowal China Clay Co. Throughout his long career he showed a thorough practical knowledge of china clay Production and was respected by their Board of Directors and all who came into contact with him.'[1]
