Trevido Viaduct

From Graces Guide

A Class A viaduct one mile (1.6 km) west of Menheniot.

101 feet (31 m) high, 486 feet (148 m) long on 7 piers

Replaced by a new stone viaduct on 14 September 1898.

An accident happened on 15 November 1897 during reconstruction work, a rope gave way while five men were hoisting a wooden beam up onto the new viaduct. One of them let go of his rope too soon, as a result the beam swung free and knocked two of the gang to their deaths.
