1934 The business was incorporated under the name of Kays of Shetland Limited as a private company, with capital of £10,000, to acquire the business of hosiery manufacturers and distributors carried on by the subscribers, George Theodore Kay and Alexander Irvine Tulloch, under the style of the Shetland Hand-Knit Company and Kays of Shetland.[1]

A small quantity of archival material is deposited in Shetland Museum and Archives (D1/151).[2]
