1901 The Turbine Steamer Syndicate was set up[1]
The King Edward, the first passenger turbine steamer, was delivered to the company and started service in 1902. She was followed by another turbine steamer, the Queen Alexandra[2]
1902 The name of the business was changed to Turbine Steamers Ltd.
1926 The company had ordered 4 turbine steamers, including the King George V, constructed by William Denny and Brothers, Ltd., of Dumbarton, with engines by the Parsons Marine Steam Turbine Co Ltd, of Wallsend. The first was launched in April 1926.
1926 Death of Christopher John Leyland, chairman of the company[3]
1927 The King Edward was transferred to Williamson-Buchanan Steamers Ltd
1936 David MacBrayne Ltd and the London, Midland and Scottish Railway Company purchased the steamers and goodwill of Williamson-Buchanan Steamers Ltd and of Turbine Steamers Ltd[4]
