1968 New rod and bar mill. Part of Standard Pressed Steel Group [1]. Having been supplying half of its output to inhouse users (presumably Unbrako Socket Screw Co), the enhanced rolling capacity (five times) with the new mill allowed the company to seek outside customers[2]

1982 The company won the 1982 Gas Energy Management Award. Unbrako manufactures a range of specialist steels from alloy and carbon forming steel to alloy bright bar and hot rolled precision rod. A self recuperative burner was fitted to one furnace and saved 25% of previous gas consumption.[3]
