WWI: Redline Motor Spirit Co was one of the established suppliers of motor spirit to the British market

1917 Became a member of the Pool Board, set up by the government to control distribution of petroleum products[1].

1924 The Union Petroleum Products Company, announced that it changed its name to the Redline Motor Spirit Co, Limited. The solo reason for this change was that the company wanted to be identified more closely in future with the brand of motor spirit which it was at present marketing. No alteration whatever was made in the constitution, management or policy of the company. [2]
