1885 Van Gelder, Apsimon and Co was incorporated in conversion of the business of mill engineers, millwrights, and machine makers, carried on by Messrs. Van Gelder and Apsimon, at Victoria Works, Sowerby Bridge, Yorkshire, and 3, Old Ropery, Liverpool.
