1897 Established as coil winding contractors to the trade, of Lodge Lane, Derby[1]

1897 Said to have been formed by Benjamin Varley, a railway clerk, in Derby.[2]

1922 The Company, having disposed of its business to Oliver Pell Control Ltd., together with the greater part of its assets, and having ceased to trade, was wound up voluntarily. W. M. D. Pell, Chairman[3]

The company was operating after this as a subsidiary of Oliver Pell Control, providing various electronic components such as resistors and chokes and offering a coil winding service.

1927 Radio Instruments (Ltd.) amalgamated with the Varley Magnet Company, making transformers.[4]
