1894 Patent on expansion gear for motive power engines by Edward Vernon, engineer, Josiah John Guest engineer, both of Alma Works, Smethwick and William Walker, mechanical draughtsman of Smethwick.

1899 Supplied a 10 HP steam engine to Braund and Son, makers of 'Devonia' jam, at Chambercombe [1]

1907 Dissolution of the Partnership between Edward Vernon and Alfred Richards, carrying on business as Engineers, at Smethwick, in the county of Stafford, under the style or firm of "VERNON AND GUEST." All debts owing to and payable by the late firm, will be received and paid by the said Edward Vernon.[2]
