The Mussy-sous-Dun viaduct, located on the line from Paray-le-Monial to Givors-Canal, was built at the end of the 19th century to relieve congestion on the direct Lyon - Paris line.[1]

1897 Description and drawings of the masonry viaduct. 'The interesting work, so ably carried out by MM. Vaysserye, was designed by the engineers of the Paris, Lyons, and Mediterranean Railway Company, MM. Geoffroy, Moris, and Ponthier.' [2]
