1952 'Mr. Thomas Farrington. of 43 Arpley Street, Warrington. chairman and managing director of the Viaduct Alum Co. Ltd., chemical manufacturers of Widnes, died to-day, aged 73.'[1]

1962 '[Laporte Industries| Laporte Industries Ltd]] has made an offer of £71,305 for the of issued capital of Viaduct Alum Co Ltd, a Widnes-based firm making aluminium sulphate and soda alum. The directors of the Widnes company have agreed to recommend acceptance of offer by their shareholders'[2]
