W. A. Baxter and Sons

1868 The business was founded by George Baxter in the village of Fochabers in Moray, where he and his wife Margaret opened a small shop, selling jams and jellies made from local produce.[1]
1945 W. A. Baxter and Sons Limited, of the Northern Preserve Works, Fochabers, was incorporated as a private company, with capital of £4,000, to acquire and carry on the business of fruit and beetroot grower, and preserver and manufacturers of meat products carried on by William A. Baxter and Etheldreda Baxter under the name of W. A. Baxter.[2]
2006 The company changed its name to Baxters Food Group Limited.[3]
2008 The chilled soup facilities were sold to Northern Foods; the Grantham factory was shut.
