1910 Incorporated as a limited company, a public company which was then floated on Stock Exchange; 13 branches in London; 4 branches in Paris[1][2]

1953 Proposed sale of the footwear manufacturing subsidiary to Somervell Brothers and then the company would be liquidated[3]

1954 Acquired by B. and L. Davis; would become an investment holding company; acquired Selmer, dealer in musical instruments.[4]

1958 W. Abbott and Sons Ltd, maker of musical instruments, had seen increased sales during the past year; the company acquired Thames Valley Moulders Ltd; name of the group was changed to Musical and Plastic Industries[5]
