W. H. Heron (c1896 - 1961)

'We regret to record the death, at the age of sixty-five, of Mr. W. H. Heron, group works engineering director of Raleigh Industries Ltd. Mr. Heron had been with the company for forty years, and had risen from the ranks to become works engineer in 1943, a director of the Robin Hood Cycle Company Ltd., in 1951, and of Rudge-Whitworth Ltd., and the Triumph Cycle Company Ltd. in 1955. In 1956 he was also appointed to the board of the Raleigh Cycle Company Ltd.' [1]
