1947 W. H. Howson Ltd., Lees Yard, Meadow Lane, Leeds.[1]

1951 Acquired by R. W. Crabtree and Sons.[2]

1965 Crabtree was acquired by Vickers

1967 James R. Denner patented a photographic enlarger for half-tone colour printing; the patent was assigned to the company.

1969 Vickers Printing Machinery acquired Algraphy of Orpington, maker of litho plates and chemicals[3]

1979 Howson Algraphy Group performed well[4]

1989 Howson Algraphy was sold to Du Pont which made complementary products[5]

Later sold to Agfa[6]

  • Was the founder of W. H. Howson - Wilfred Hector Howson (1902-1971). 1939 Listed as Printers Compositor & Machine Man. 1960 Listed as company director on passenger list for New York.
