1882 W. Todd Moffatt, of 17 Regent Quay, Aberdeen (son of the general manager and secretary of the Great North of Scotland Railway Company) appointed district agent for the London, Edinburgh and Glasgow assurance Co.[2]
1884 The Crathie is the first of a new line of Aberdeen coasting traders to sail under the flag of William Todd Moffatt. Ship built by John Key and Sons[3]
1891 Married 'William Todd Moffatt, shipowner, Aberdeen, to Elsie Murray, youngest daughter of W. S. Croudace, shipowner, Netherby, Droughty Ferry.'[4] They had three daughters and a son William Murray Moffatt
1892 'A finely modelled iron screw steamer, built to the order of Mr William Todd Moffatt, Aberdeen, will be launched at eleven o'clock to-morrow forenoon from the shipbuilding yard of Messrs Hall, Russell and Co., Footdee. This vessel, which will be named the Collynie,....'[5]
1906 'William Todd Moffatt, Aberdeen, received information yesterday that a decision had been arrived at the arbiters regarding the loss of the Corennie, of Aberdeen....'[6]
1921 Died. 'The death took place at nursing home in Aberdeen yesterday Mr William Todd Moffatt, shipbroker, had been indifferent health for some time. Mr Moffatt, who 61 years of was native of North Shields, but had spent practically al his life in Aberdeen, his father coming to the city in 1860 when appointed manager of the Great North Scotland Railway Company. Mr Moffat built up a good shipping connection, and was one of the beet-known men the harbour. He gave generously of his time various spheres of public and social work. He at th>e Harbour Board for several years, and was a member of the 1903 School Board of the city....(image)'[7]
