Sheerness; appointments at Dockyards, Sheerness, Gibraltar and Devonport; Officer i/c Workshops, Repair Ship "Reliance," 1915; served in the Grand Fleet under Admiral Beatty; Dardenelles operations with Eastern Mediterranean Squadron (receiving letter of appreciation from the Lords of the Admiralty); after further services at Portsmouth, appointed to Admiralty (Dockyard Dept.) as Engr. Examiner and later Engr. Assistant. Awarded "Silver Jubilee" Medal.
