by 1980 the company was loss-making although it did own a successful and profitable business reconditioning the rollers from steel mills, and there was also a steel stockholding business.
1981 Because of the continuing depressed state of trade, it was decided to move the non-ferrous foundry (Vale Castings) from Pontyclun to the Caerphilly site[2][3]
1982 Acquired by C. Price, Nigel Rudd's company.
1982 Sold Williams Alexandra Foundry to Westley Engineering Group[4]. Acquired Allisons of Pocklington, Allisons Garages and Allisons Motors, BMW dealers of Doncaster and Hull[5]
1983 Name changed to Williams Holdings
