1986 Samworth Brothers purchased the pie making company of Walker and Son.

1989 The company became Walkers Crisps Holdings Ltd
Smiths Food Group was acquired by PepsiCo
1992 The company became Walkers Smiths Snack Foods Ltd
1995 The company became Walkers Snack Foods Ltd
by 2006 Walkers Crisps dominated the crisps market in the UK (45.5 percent)
