1932 Obituary [1]

WALTER HERBERT BACK was for many years managing director of Messrs. Pertwee and Back, marine and general engineers, of Great Yarmouth.

He was at Cambridge University from 1889 to 1892, and served a four years' apprenticeship in the shops and drawing office of Messrs. Fielding and Platt at Gloucester. He was a draughtsman with the company for some years before entering the old-established firm of Pertwee and Back in 1900.

Mr. Back, who became an Associate Member of the Institution in 1904, died suddenly on 23rd February 1932, in his sixty-second year.

He was transferred to Membership in 1913.
