- Mirrlees, Bickerton and Day, Ltd., Hazel Grove, on Diesel oil engines and condensing plant work;
- Yarrow and Co., Ltd., Scotstoun, Glasgow. One of the founder members of "The Engineers German Circle" in London.
Gave instruction to marine engineers on oil engines and steam power plant during his internment in Ruhleben Camp, Germany, 1914-18.
Books:
- Collaborated with Dr. A. L. Mellanby in translating from the German Dr. O. Lasche 's book on "Materials and Design in Turbo-Generator Plant".
