Early 1860s: The company set up plant at Drumgray, near Airdrie, including 20 upright retorts and 50 horizontal retorts erected by Messrs Bennie and Co for the manufacture of crude oil, but by 1866 had not had any refining machinery erected.[1]

1864 A special General Meeting of the Wareham Oil and Candle Company Limited was held at the Offices of the Company, No. 21, Abchurch-lane, in the city of London; Edward Kerrich was in the Chair[2]

1882 Struck off the register of joint stock companies[3]
