Supplier of magnesia to Newalls Insulation Co Ltd. A member of the International Magnesia Association

1872 Dissolution of the Partnership between Robert Benson Bowman, Isaac Lowthian Bell, and Robert Stirling Newall, as Chemical Manufacturers, at Washington, in the county of Durham, under the style or firm of the Washington Chemical Company, by the retirement of Isaac Lowthian Bell.[2]

1920 One of 4 companies incorporated into Turner and Newall Ltd[3].

1928 Turner and Newall and Distillers Co jointly formed the Carbon Dioxide Co Ltd to handle sales of the gas produced by Washington Chemical Co Ltd and some of Distillers' works[4].

1953 left the International Magnesia Association

1964 Two parts of Turner and Newall, namely Newalls Insulation Co and Washington Chemical Co, were amalgamated to form Newalls Insulation and Chemical Co Ltd.
