1911 Business Established, sole proprietors of Permutit base exchange medium.

The "Permutit" process consists in treating the water with a chemical combination of alumina and silica with a sodium (or calcium, magnesium, or manganese) base, resulting in an exchange of the sodium base of the Permutit with an equivalent quantity of calcium or magnesium in the water, liberating an equivalent quantity of sodium, which passes forward in solution in the softened water.

1913 Merger with Lassen and Hjort Ltd to form United Water Softeners although the 2 companies seem to have continued operating as separate companies for some years/

1922 Company in business.
