Wear Boatbuilding Co

From Graces Guide

of North Shore, Monkwearmouth, Sunderland

1963 The business closed because, it was said, of the advent of new materials in boatbuilding. The firm was over 100 years old and built lifeboats for ships built on the Wear, as well as launches and cabin cruisers.[1] Their premises were acquired by their neighbours Joseph L. Thompson and Sons.[2]
