Wellworthy Ltd. of Lymington, Hants., part of the Associated Engineering Group.
1952 Wellworthy Piston Rings changed its name to Wellworthy.
1961 Wellworthy Piston Rings were manufacturers of pistons, piston rings, cylinder liners, valve seats, retaining rings and powder handling compressors. 3,300 employees. [1]
1963 Motor Show exhibitor. Pistons etc. [2]
By 1966 Wellworthy had become a major producer of components for the motor industry and were expanding rapidly.
1973 Diesel Engine Components Division of the Associated Engineering Group.
1974 Installed a Filtermist unit to its Bridgwater factory to clear oil mist from the machine shop. The equipment was sold by NIS Marketing, Bristol.[3]
In recent years the Bridgwater factory was demolished and the site cleared for housing.
