1862 June 02nd. Foundation stone of new school in King Street laid by William Brock. This building will replace the premises rented in Preston Street, Exeter. Currently the school has 250 pupils and this new building will accommodate 400. In a cavity in the foundation stone is a bottle containing an inscription and list of these present.[1]
