1929 'The Western Electricity Supply Co., Ltd., are developing a comprehensive scheme of electric service in the Counties of Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Hampshire, Somerset and Dorset - an area of approximately 6.000 sq. miles.' Engineers to the following companies: Wessex Electricity Co; Malmesbury Electric Supply Co; West Wilts Electric Light and Power Co; Ruthin Electric Supply Co; Cookham and District Electricity Co; Salcombe Gas and Electricity Co; Abingdon Electric Supply Co; Stroud Electric Supply Co; Andover and District Electricity Supply Co; Tetbury Electric Supply Co; Cirencester Electric Supply Co; Wantage Electric Supply Co; Faringdon Electricity Supply Co; Warminster Electric Supply Co; Leominster Electric Supply Co; Whitchurch and Pangbourne Electric Supply Co.[2]
