1889 The Wick and Pulteneytown Steam Shipping Company Limited was incorporated.[1] The company's steamer was built at the Paisley yard of Fleming and Ferguson and was named St. Fergus, after the patron saint of Wick.[2]

1897 The company went into liquidation.[3]
