"...severe loss by the death, on Monday, April 5th, of Sir William Berry, who, after a distinguished career, retired in 1930 from the post of Director of Naval Construction. Sir William, who was only seventy-two years of ago, was in good health until quite recently, but he died suddenly after alighting from his car at Sutton on Monday afternoon. He was born at Sheerness in 1865 and was educated at tho Sheerness School and at the Royal Naval College at Greenwich. In 1887 he joined the Royal Corps of Naval Constructors..."More.
