1871 Living at 59 York Road, Cheetham: William Cary (age 61 born Salisbury), Coach Spring manufacturer employing 40 men and 8 boys - Widower. One servant.[1]

1887 April 3rd. Died in Wiltshire. 'On the 3rd Inst., at his residence, Salisbury, William Cary, late of Manchester, in his 78th year.'[2]
