1861 Patent application by William Dredge Player, of the firm of Iliffe and Player, Brothers, Button Manufacturers, of Birmingham, in the county of Warwick, in respect of the invention of "certain improvements in the description of buttons, commonly known as linen buttons."[1]

1867 Patent to William Dredge Player, of the firm of Player, Brothers, of Birmingham, in the county of Warwick, Manufacturers, for the invention of "improvements in covers for the tops of bottles, jars, and other vessels"[2]

1872 Patent to William Dredge Player, of Birmingham, in the county of Warwick, Manufacturer, for the invention of "improvements in machinery for the manufacture of buttons."[3]
