Born the son of William Fiddian, a Saddler and Postmaster

1905 Patent 'William Fiddian, Joseph Penn, and Harry Birch Killon, improvements in apparatus for distributing sewage or sewage effluent upon filter beds'[1]

1911 Residing at Elmhust, Brook Lane, Stourbridge: William Fiddian (age 62 born Lye), Civil Engineer. With his wife Mary Ann Fiddian.[2]

1913 'William Fiddian, engineer and surveyor, Stourbridge, gave evidence as to the early history of the sewage farm.'[3]

1927 Died. 'The death took place his home to-day of Mr William Fiddian of Elmhurst, the Longlands, Stourbridge, who for years was a prominent figure in Midland drainage circles. he was 78 years of age, and only a few days ago retired on account of ill-health, from his position as engineer to the Upper Stour Main Sewage Board and Stourbridge Main Drainage Board, on which hr served since their formation. Mr. Fiddian was a native of Lye.'[4]
