William Foster MA, FCS

c.1846 Born in East Yorkshire

1872 Began undergraduate studies at Cambridge University where he took the MA in 1879[1]

1884 Presented a paper at the Institution of Civil Engineers on "Experiments on the Composition and Destructive Distillation of Coal."

1891 Professor of Chemistry, and privately engaged as analytical chemist, living in St Mary le Strand, London[2]

1893 An analytical chemist when he died in London[3]
