1823 Sale Notice: 'Iron Foundry and Iron Axle Manufactory, At Bramshaw, in the New Forest. TO be SOLD by AUCTION, on Wednesday, September 3d, and following day, by Mr. Young,
—All the Valuable UTENSILS, WORKING TOOLS, PATTERNS, CAST IRON, & EFFECTS, belonging to Mr. Wm. Henbest, retiring from business: comprising 2 blast furnaces, 2 lathes, 3 pair of bellows, several anvils, crane, all sorts of tools for making and turning axles and boxes, large quantity of original and modern patterns, large and small letters and figures, iron and wood flasks, wood crane with rope and pullies, Count Rumford and other improved patterns for grates and gratings, fish snares, &c-; patterns for malt kilns, ovens, and for wheels from the smallest size to 24 feet over, also for cranks of several sorts and sizes; round and square grate patterns, also columns of various ranks and sizes ; weights, railing, pipes, closet doors and frames from the smallest size weight; water troughs, gates, cog and other wheels; plough work, and about ploughs, finished and unfinished; 20 tons of cast iron, &c.; pair finished and unfinished boxes and axles, only one broken and returned during years 1 practice; some valuable tools for cutting screws (left and right); about 10 chaldron of coke; with a general and large assortment of other property in tools, &c. in the above line. May be viewed two days previous to, and on the mornings of sale, which will begin 11 o'clock Refreshment will be provided in the mornings before the sale. Persons who have Patterns at the Foundery are desired to take them away before the day of sale, or they will be sold. And all debts due to W. H. must be paid immediately, or legal means will be used to recover the same.'[1]
