. . . . From 1866 to 1868 he acted as Resident Engineer for Mr. Pilbrow on the Rochester and Chatham Waterworks and on the main drainage of Canterbury. He then assisted the late Mr. Arthur Jacob in the preparation of a scheme of main drainage for the town and district of Bromley, Kent, and was subsequently engaged for five years as Chief Assistant to the late Jabez Church on numerous gas, water and sewerage works. In 1872 and 1873 he contributed Papers on Railway Brakes to the Transactions of the Society of Engineers.
Mr. Fox was appointed Engineer and Surveyor to the borough of Barrow-in-Furness in 1878, and held that post for twenty-two years. . . . . [more]
