WILLIAM HENRY MAYSTON was born in 1885, and died in London on the 15th February, 1930.
He was educated at the Brighton Grammar School and the Brighton Technical College.
In 1899 he entered the service of the Eastern Telegraph Co. as a probationer, and in the course of the usual training at the company's school showed special aptitude for the technical and electrical side. He was subsequently appointed to the electrical staff at Porthcurnow, and thereafter served in this branch of the service from the rank of junior to the responsible position of senior electrician at the company's main line stations in the Mediterranean, Red Sea, on the east coast of Africa, in South Africa, and at Rodriguez and Seychelles, with intermittent periods in the electrical department at the company's head office in London.
He was elected an Associate Member of the Institution in 1908 and a Member in 1921.
