1857 Patent. '1443. And William Hensman, of Linslade, in the county of Buckinghamshire, Agricultural Implement Manufacturer, has given the like notice in respect of the invention of "improvements in drills for sowing seeds and depositing manure."'[3]
1859 Four killed. 'a steam-engine of four-horse power, manufactured by Hensman, of Woburn, Beds, was being got in readiness, when by some (at present unexplained) cause a terrible explosion took place, and scene of great havoc, excitement, and anxiety ensued.'[4]
1861 Patent. '2169. And William Hensman, of Woburn, in the county of Bedfordshire, and William Hensman the younger, of Linslade, in the county of Buckinghamshire, Agricultural Engineers, have given the like notice in respect of the invention of "improvements in apparatus for tilling land by steam power."[5]
1862 William Hensman and Son, of Linslade Works, Leighton Buzzard, Beds.
1864 Turner and Bishop take over the Linslade Works from William Hensman and Son.[6]
1865 Patent. '598. William Hensman, of Woburn, in the county of Bedfordshire, and William Hensman the younger, of Linslade, in the county of Buckinghamshire, Agricultural Engineers, for an invention of "improvements in steam ploughs, and in apparatus connected therewith."'[7]
