1906-10 Carried out experiments and made working drws. for new type of Motor Cycle, and for adaptation of friction drive to Motor Cars.

1911-12 Works manager Safety Tread Syndicate

1912-13 Resumes experimental work, carrying out construction of a friction driven car. See B.H.

1911 March. Patent. '2,964, W. H. Codner, Motor cycle and tricycle frames, bodies, wheels, axles, and springing.'[1]

1911 Living at Heath Lodge, Long Road, Dedham, Essex: William Squires Codner (age 59 born City of London), Iron merchant. With his wife Ada Mary Codner (age 56 born Oxford) and their three sons; William Hubert Codner (age 27 born London), Civil Engineer; Clifford Squires Codner (age 25 born London), Farmer; and Maurice Fredrick Codner (age 22 born London), Traveller.[2]
