1901 Living at Ship's Inn, Fore Street, Heavitree, Exeter: William James Chamberlain (age 62 born Clyst Honiton), Licensed Victualler and Widower. With his son William Edward Chamberlain (age 26 born Heavitree), Mechanical Engineer; and his DIL Amy Rose.[1]

1917 Died 'At the Imperial Motor Works, Exmouth, William James Chamberlain, late of the Ship, Heavitree, aged 78 years.'[2]
