Decorative Ironworker, of Vulcan Works, Cheltenham

1865 Won a competition of the Society of Arts Workmanship

1866 Won another competition by the Society; the winning panel was acquired by Victoria and Albert Museum. Letheren was described as the greatest art ironworker in England

1872 Established Vulcan Iron Works to manufacture "Improved lifts and cranes, iron roofs, girders, gates, railings .... mediaeval and artistic work in iron and brass".

Early 1900s retired when his firm went bankrupt.

c.1908 Vulcan Works sold to H. H. Martyn and Co

1910 Letheren died
